Future Location:

Opening Day: Spring 2021

This is an exciting time for The Miracle League of Dane County. It’s almost time for children with special needs to “Play Ball!” 70 children have signed up to play and we have a DIRE NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS.

Our inaugural season is scheduled to begin on June 15th, so volunteer registration is now open. You can register to volunteer up to the end of May.

We recognize that this is a time of great uncertainty as we live our lives in response to COVID-19. The league’s planning strategy is to keep doing the next right thing with the information we have at each stage, including monitoring state and county public health mandates as well as the status of child vaccinations.

We are proceeding optimistically with volunteer registration so we can order equipment and uniforms and recruit the necessary level of volunteer staff. The contact information you provide on the registration form will allow us to keep you up to date on season status, safety precautions, league schedules, volunteer shifts and other important details.

**Our plans for volunteers could be altered by Public Health of Dane County mandates. They could affect how many volunteers will be allowed on the field at one time**.

We recognize that uncertainty about COVID-19 makes it hard to plan for summer, but we still want you to register for volunteer opportunities.

Some Important Notes :

  1. You must be 13 years of age and older as of June 1, 2021 to be a volunteer.
  2. A volunteer “Buddy” is paired with each child when they are on the field – helping them hit, run, field and throw a ball, and score a run. And have fun !
  3. Other volunteer opportunities include Team Coach, Umpire, Game Announcer, Game Operations, Health & Safety Assistant.
  4. Games will be played on Tuesday & Wednesday nights (and an occasional Thursday) at Bakken Park, 4064 Vilas Road, in Cottage Grove. We will have an 8-game season.

Stay safe and be well as we move ahead with optimism. We all look forward to seeing the pandemic in our rear-view mirrors and our children’s smiling faces on the baseball diamond with your help.
