Game nights at the Miracle League of Dane County are the highlight of my daughter’s and our family’s year! As a parent of a child with disabilities, I was overjoyed to discover that the Miracle League is a rare oasis of true inclusivity and acceptance for children of all abilities—set in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Knowing that the entire facility is accessible to players and visitors using mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, and gait trainers, and that each player has a supportive buddy during the game, gives me peace of mind that my daughter’s needs will be met so she can fully participate and enjoy the game.

At the Miracle League of Dane County, there is a real sense of belonging and community for every player and their family. This warmth is visible in the players’ smiling faces, their celebratory dances, and the shared high-fives and fist bumps with coaches and buddies. It’s felt in the camaraderie and cheers from every player—regardless of which team they belong to—especially from the delightfully enthusiastic game announcer. It’s evident in the shared conversations and encouragement exchanged between families, and in the words of support given to players after each game.

The Miracle League offers us the wonderful opportunity to invite extended family, neighbors, classmates, and school or daycare staff to cheer for my daughter as she plays a fun game—with no pressure regarding her level of participation or performance. Over three seasons of playing, I have watched her confidence and abilities grow each year. The fun memories created with friends and family during these evenings are treasures I will cherish forever, thanks to the Miracle League of Dane County.
